1. Description
It is the branch of engineering that deals with the design, supervision and construction management of civil works related to virtually all human activities such as transport, ports, highways, airports, tunnels, coastal structures, mining, impact assessment environmental, housing estates, buildings; while it is promoting research in these oriented transfer of the latest knowledge areas.
2. Components of the Curriculum of the Degree Programme in Civil Engineering

2.1 Mission
Train Engineers (as) Civil integral with constantly updated scientific and technical, leadership, ethics, social commitment, creativity and innovation and integration to develop projects and civil works knowledge respecting the environment, ensuring sustainability and meeting quality standards, regulations , standards, specifications, with a view to improving the quality of life of society.
2.2 Vision
The Degree Programme in Civil Engineering will be a model in the training of engineers (as), for the quality of its academic, research, administrative and social management. It will feature national and international recognition while maintaining a strong relationship with the productive sector and society.
2.3 General Purpose
Train Engineers (as) Civil comprehensive, entrepreneurs (as) and innovative (as), with scientific and technical constantly updated, leadership, ethics, social commitment, creativity and innovation and integration expertise to develop projects and civil works respecting the environment, ensuring sustainability and meeting quality standards, regulations, standards and specifications, with a view to improving the quality of life of society, according to the provisions of Article 19 of Decree 257 of September 3, 1965; whereby Law 15 of 1959 regulates.
2.4 Specific Objectives
Form civil engineers capable of:
- Planning and designing civil works projects according to current standards and codes and respecting environmental, risk and safety
- Manage the implementation and operation of civil works according to contract documents, regulations in force and respecting environmental, risk and safety
- Inspect the execution of civil works in accordance with the plans, specifications and respecting environmental, risk and safety
- Develop appraisals, surveys and technical reports own Civil Engineering, according to codes, standards and laws.
- Teach in their own Civil Engineering and careers related materials, according to the andragogical model of higher education.
- Manage related to the development of civil works companies, fulfilling the goals of profitability and growth
- Generate new knowledge to technological innovations and adaptations following the scientific research method.

- I possess secondary school leaving certificate, obtained from a curriculum of five (5) years or more
- Possess mathematical skills: Ability to perform arithmetic operations, basic algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.
- Possess verbal reasoning ability: Complete the meaning of prayer, critical reading, analogies.
2.6 Entry Requirements
Entry requirements for freshmen and students who have studied at a higher level are:

- Approve the Scholastic Aptitude Test (PAA).
- To present the diagnostic test of English proficiency (ELASH).
- Psychological present test
- Take and pass Pre-Calculus course and Academic and Professional Skills.
Students who have studied at a higher level (national or foreign universities):

- Two (2) copies of the identity card or birth certificate if not of legal age.

2.7 Profile of Graduate
The graduate of the Bachelor of Civil Engineering is a comprehensive, innovative and entrepreneurial professional, scientific and technical constantly updated, leadership, ethics, social commitment, which is able to perform the following skills:
- Develop projects, structural drawings and specifications, design, direct, organize, inspect, supervise, execute, rehabilitate, conserve budget and respecting environmental, risk and safety, the following types of work:
- Land routes, river and air communications (roads, railways, airports, bridges, canals, and others)
- Waterworks, reservoirs, dams, embankments, etc.
- Sewerage, water supply, irrigation and drainage, water supply. Irrigation, drainage, sewerage, etc.
- Buildings of all kinds.
- Geotechnical studies.
- Impact studies and environmental auditing.
- Topographic and geodetic work.
- Prepare and issue reports, plans, assessments and expertise in all matters relating to the profession of Civil Engineer.

1. Description
